Some research on Wiki creation revealed that what we are doing with the SMLF group next Thursday is referred to as BarnRaising http://www.wikipatterns.com/display/wikipatterns/BarnRaising. Essentially, BarnRaising involves getting a like-minded group (I think everybody at the SMLF would agree the briefing note process can stand to be improved!) together at a designated time (Thursday, May 24 at 2:45 pm) to create content on a wiki together. Just when we thought we were on to something...it has already been named!
At the bottom of this web page, which is really a wiki about wiki patterns and anti patterns, there is some terrific information. Recommended reading for sure!

This information is an incredible find Anna and has given me lots of great ideas for speaking notes and how to position this interactive session. I see next year's (2008)leadership forum transformed into NRCan's Barn Raising. Great way to introduce this topic and captivate the audience.
this is a test from Calgary
This sounds intriguing. We here in Calgary are looking forward to the Collaborative Technology presentation at the Leadership forum tomorrow.
Feeling the same way in the Sault. Thanks for inviting us to be part of this collaboration. Looking forward to it.
The terminology ("barn-raising", "scaffolding") really resonates with me. The visual images for collaboration with a concrete end-result are right on!
Really looking forward to the presenation!
